From Roman beginnings, Manchester has shed its dirty industrial image; while retaining its heritage linking it to the past and the birth of the world’s first Industrial City, it has moved on into the 21st century and the planners, designers and architects have given us somewhere to 'make us feel proud'.

Modern buildings like Urbis and the Beetham Tower are now part of our Cityscape and will surely be joined by similarly splendid constructions as we can even now see emerging in Spinningfield.
